 Welcome to Kiger Plews Fitness 
 
My name is Kiger Plews and I am a certified personal trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine, as well as a fitness nutrition specialist through the American Council on Exercise. I started Kiger Plews Fitness to help people live fuller, longer, healtheir lives through the implementation of exercise and improved eating habits. Kiger Plews Fitness is based out of Vida, Oregon, in the foothills of the beautiful Cascade mountains.
 
Kiger Plews Fitness utilizes a progression-based training program known as the Optimum Performance Training (OPT) Model. This model of training is designed to achieve fitness goals in the safest, most efficient way possible through a slow progression of the following areas of fitness: flexibility, balance training, core training, plyometric training (optional), speed and agility training (optional), cardio endurance, and weight-bearing resistance training.
 
The OPT Model was introduced to me by the National Academy of Sports Medicine during my time studying to become a personal trainer. I have chosen to design my exercise programs around this template based on the evidence that progression-based training aids in reducing the risk of injury and gives the client something to track as far as their progress towards their fitness goals. This type of training model also allows for a more personalized workout, specific to the goals of the client.
 
As a fitness service I offer both online (off site) and in-home personal training. I also offer nutriton workshops that include nutriton guides, grocery store tours, and healthy cooking demonstrations.
 
My private training sessions can be performed in the home, outside, in the garage, in a park, pretty much anywhere with space! Private training provides the client with maximum convenience and great professional services, at reasonable rates
 
Here are a couple myths that I always like to put to rest right away with my clients. 1) Weightlifting is not solely a way to bulk up and gain muscle mass, but in fact CAN help you lose weight because muscle requires more energy to maintain, and is more dense, than body fat. 2) Nutrition becomes EVEN MORE important when you start exercising. This is contrary to the belief that if you exercise you can eat whatever you want.
